Paleocord Adapters
So this idea comes from two places. First, I'm someone who tends to work in technologies that are a bit older than average. I'm not talking about historical accuracy, so I'm not interested in ensuring a particular connector is authentic. More that I might need to extend an Apple ADB cable, or hook up a landline. Second, I stumbled upon an article on Cracked.com titled 27 Suggested Words And Phrases For Describing Modern Life which included the term "paleocord"—"an old, outdated computer cable. He kept a box of paleocords in the mistaken belief that they would one day be useful."
A while back I made my own board to connect to the outdated-as-soon-as-it-was-introduced Apple Display Connector interface. I guess technically that project is the "first" board.
Paleocord Adapter 1 is actually one that interfaces to the venerable RJ45 jack, and specifically to Category 3, Category 5, and Category 5e cables, and more specifically to the TIA/EIA-568A wiring standard (although the TIA/EIA-568B would work equally well except the colors are different.)
